Former Arsenal star and Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner has been charged with an incident wit a taxi diver that left the driver with a broken jaw.
Bendtner, who plays for Norwegian side Rosenborg, was arrested in September after an incident with a Copenhagen taxi driver, which saw him undergo surgery for a broken jaw.
The Danish footballer was arrested and later released.
On Thursday, Bendtner has been charged with violence over the altercation, Mail Online reported.
The driver was also charged with throwing an unknown object towards Bendtner and his girlfriend without hitting them but he is protesting his innocence, the driver’s lawyer Mette Grith Stage told Reuters.
Bendtner, 30, played for Arsenal nine years and has represented Denmark 81 times, although his career has been littered with media reports of drink-fuelled escapades,
He missed out on selection for this year’s World Cup due to injury and is out of the Nations League clash with the Republic of Ireland on Saturday.
Bendtner buried a penalty in the 5-1 World Cup play-off defeat of martin O’Neill’s men at the Aviva Stadium a year ago.
